1000 Islands

aerial view of 1000 Island NYThe 1000 Islands Region is an international tourism destination, encompassing communities on both sides of the US and Canada border along the St. Lawrence River and the eastern shores of Lake Ontario. The region takes its name from the more than 1000 islands that dot the lake and river along this international waterway. The region extends from Kingson to Cornwall on the Canadian side, and from Oswego to Massena on the US side, reaching inland to the foothills of the Adirondack mountains to embrace the communities that are west and north of the Adirondack Park, and the four NY Counties of Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence.

Less than 24 hour visit but was so relaxing and comfortable

Staff were wonderful! Room was large and had a loft for the kids. Indoor pool and hot tub was so much fun for entire family! Great weekend!

Beautiful little getaway

We just stayed there a few weeks ago, in early November 2017. It was off-season so we were too late to do any of the boat or castle tours but we had an awesome, relaxing stay here and enjoyed exploring the beautiful little town. The room was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and there was a nice little breakfast of muffins and fruit and danishes in the morning. The view from our balcony was pretty and we had a great view of the big castle. The little downtown area with restaurants (the ones that were still open haha) was within walking distance or very close driving distance. We got a map and checked out some of little parks in the area, including their "best kept secret one" by the hospital (which has a little bridge - that was also closed for the season when we went, boohoo - to a little island). Absolutely beautiful little town to stay in, and we hope to return sometime!

Long awaited Getaway

The Riveredge Resort is great place to stay! It is an older hotel but has a lot of character! It's clean, our room was absolutely beautiful. We had a King Size with balcony on the St Lawrence River. A lot of thought was put into what guest would need! The Indoor pool and Jacuzzi was a plus. The staff was friendly! The pub was open for dinner mostly bar food but it was good. The location was great! Walking distance to downtown restaurants a distillery and shops. It was within a 3 to 5 minute walk to Uncle Sam's Boat Cruise. Best Hotel that we had ever stayed at! Highly recommended!
